A little bit about me
Hi, My name is Martin Woods I am a motion and web designer from Leeds in the UK. I have a passion for all things digital and love learning new tricks. I have been working as a freelancer for 3 years and over that period of time I have been involved in projects for local and international brands such as Wella, Puma and Sibu Island Cabanas Resort. Recently I have been working on Sassoon.com for a top digital agency. The project uses the Interwoven CMS system as with all P&G brands. I was responsible for content, image and site navigation creation.
In September 2008 I embarked on a year long (once in a lift time) trip around the world, visiting India, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, China, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia and the USA. This year has been a great opportunity for me to get inspiration from different cultures and their traditions. Since then I have returned to the UK and now busy working away in the digital world.
I have experience at User Interface Design and producing content for CMS. Working as a producer under a senior designer I have created websites, newsletters, banner ads (both traditional and rich media), branding designs and participated in research for pitch presentations. As a freelance web designer I recently re-branded the on-line presentation for a resort based on a small island in Malaysia. The new CMS website was specifically designed to be easily updated by the client and ensured SEO accessibility. The successful re-launch of the website and first page Google ranking increased the site traffic by 3000% which led to a vast rise in bookings for 2009 and 2010.
Before travelling my last freelance position was at twentysix, a NMA top 50 UK agency based in London and Leeds. Part of my duties were the animation of infographics for Wella and building banners for the Puma Fragrances website.
I work with a range of applications mainly; After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Premier Pro, Flash, Dreamweaver and I’m learning Cinema 4D.
